In industrial facilities, once indirect process steam has fulfilled its thermal function, it reverts to condensate. This high-purity condensate is recovered in a dedicated condensate tank to be recycled as boiler feed water. Simultaneously, any supplemental conditioned makeup water required by the system is introduced into this tank. Consequently, the condensate tank serves as the central collection and stabilization point for the facility's entire boiler feed water supply.
During the engineering and fabrication of the condensate tank, it is critical to install a condensate collection manifold (collector) equipped with a submerged perforated pipe system. This configuration is specifically designed to mitigate the impact of potential steam leakage. By facilitating controlled injection and mixing, this system prevents the violent "knocks" and vibrations caused by water hammer, thereby protecting the structural integrity of the tank and the surrounding piping.
