The Deaerator Tank is used to separate the O2, CO2 and non-condensable gases in the steam boiler feed water that cause corrosion.
If the boiler feed water cannot be purified from these gases, the life of the entire system will be shortened. It can cause corrosion in the boiler and the equipment that makes up the system, which can be seen even for very short periods of time. CO2 causes carbonic acid corrosion, especially in steam-using devices and coils and condensate pipes. Oxygen causes pitting corrosion.
It is recommended that the boiler feed water be degassed by passing it through the deaerator device in order to purify it from O2 and CO2 gases.
For a suitable deaerator system, direct and most direct heating systems should be made and the temperature should be kept constant between 102-105 °C / 0.2-0.5 barG.
