MOVING GRATE STEAM BOILERS

In this system, volatile gases are first released from the fuel. When the fuel reaches the grate, high-efficiency combustion occurs as the remaining fuel is in a nearly pure carbon state. In addition, the released volatile gases mix with secondary air and are also burned, ensuring more complete combustion.

Secondary combustion air is supplied to the hopper by means of an external air damper or gasification air fan, thereby achieving maximum combustion efficiency.

The moving grate material used in the system is manufactured from high chrome-nickel alloy castings. The furnace temperature typically ranges between 950–1050°C. All units in the grate mechanism are designed with plug-in pin connections and a modular structure. The grate group is driven by a camshaft mechanism powered by a hydraulic unit.

In the lower section of the movable grate, chassis structures made of sheet metal or structural profiles, as well as ash chambers, are located. The grate system can be accessed for maintenance from this section or from the upper curtain pipe section.

The fore-hearth system installed on the movable grate consists of water tubes. The tubes used are St35.8 seamless steel pipes manufactured in accordance with DIN 2448 / EN 10216-2 standards. All holes drilled in the collector pipes are manufactured using laser or plasma cutting methods on CNC pipe/profile processing machines.

Depending on the fuel particle size, the fuel bed height on the grate can be adjusted using a mechanical drawer system. Proper refractory application in the moving grate system significantly increases combustion efficiency.
